The Nextant Aerospace 604XT is a major upgrade from its antecedent. Nextant Aerospace has truly redefined the business aviation industry with the use of reimagined engineering and production capabilities to convert secondhand business aircraft into newly upgraded airframes. The aircraft features the Rockwell Collins Pro Line Fusion integrated flight deck and several cabin upgrades.
The demand of the market for a large cabin option, with excellent performance, cost, and comfort gave way to a perfect opportunity for the Nextant Aerospace to remanufacture pre-owned Bombardier Challenger 600 series into an upgraded Nextant 604XT. The manufacturing company suddenly identified the Challenger 604 was a suitable basis to apply its remanufacturing procedures, innovations, and transformation vision for a 21st-century business jet at a fraction of the cost of the most modern production large jets. It features innovation in three main categories such as the Advanced Technology Flight Deck with the Collins Aerospace Pro Line Fusion, Uniquely Redesigned Passenger Cabin, and Improved Performance Capabilities.
In 2017, the Nextant 604XT equipped with ProLine Fusion flight deck was launched. In October 2018, one hundred flight test hours were recorded, due for certification and introduction anticipated for the fourth quarter. A newly designed cabin was introduced in the second phase, together with a wing extension increasing its range by up to 500 nautical miles, for an eighteen to twenty-four-month certification period. In November, the manufacturing company had secured the United States Supplemental Type Certificate (STC) for the upgrade in avionics, following its first delivery by December.
The aircraft cabin can accommodate nine to eleven passengers depending on the layout. It features a new entertainment system, LED lighting throughout, and a newly designed interior shell for natural light to enter the entire cabin. The 604XT is also developing aerodynamics and propulsion enhancements to improve overall performance to produce a smooth, fuel-efficient climb and cruise at altitudes above traffic and weather.
Twenty-five installations were pre-sold among three hundred Challenger 604s. On October 29, 2019, Constant Aviation delivered twenty-three production 604XT aircraft with the Nextant NextGen Flight Deck. The company forecasted to complete thirty deliveries by the last quarter of 2019 with an important backlog into 2020.
