The Yakovlev Yak-50 is a single-seat all-metal low-wing aerobatic aircraft built by Yakovlev design bureau. It was developed from the Yak-18 and took its first flight on June 25, 1975. The Yak-50 was produced from 1975 to 1986 with a total number of 314 aircraft built.

The Yak-50 is powered by a single Vedeneyev M-14P Russian nine-cylinder, four-stroke, air-cooled radial engine with a gear driven supercharger and an automatic-mixture type carburetor. Power is passed to the propeller with the use of a reduction gearbox. It is also equipped with a speed governor, two magnetos, mechanical fuel pump, generator, and an oil pump. The engine is rated at 361 horsepower and drives a two-bladed constant-speed propeller. The aircraft can also be fitted with a M-14PF rated at 400 horsepower or M-14R rated at 451 horsepower.
The aircraft has a maximum speed of 220 knots and a cruise speed of 150 knots. The stall speed is 54 knots. It has a takeoff speed of 70 knots and a landing speed of 59 knots. The never exceed speed is 240 knots. The Yak-50 has a travel range of 270 nautical miles. It can fly up to 13,000 feet and can climb at a rate of 2,220 feet per minute at maximum continuous power at maximum takeoff weight. and 52 feet per second at takeoff power.
