The 737 MAX 10 is the largest version of Boeing 737 MAX airliner which incorporates the latest technology CFM International LEAP 1-B engines, Advanced Technology winglets, Boeing Sky Interior, flight deck displays, and other innovations to produce the highest efficiency.
On June 19, 2017, Boeing launched its largest version of the 737 MAX designated as the MAX 10, to compete with the Airbus A321 and fill the gap in the market left by the 757. The newest aircraft has 240 firm orders and commitments from more than ten customers worldwide. The MAX 10 has the same capacity as the A321neo but 2.8 tons lighter, has lower fuel consumption and relatively long range. In mid-2016, the proposed MAX 10 had a larger engine, strengthened wing, and telescoping undercarriage. In September 2016, it was reported that the MAX 10 would be uncomplicated and low-risk. In early April 2019, the first MAX 10 fuselage arrived at Renton facility. On November 19, 2019, the first aircraft was rolled out quietly at a low-key ceremony in Renton.
The MAX 10 has two extra fuselage barrel sections forward and aft of the mid-section that resulted in an exterior length of 43.8 meters. The exterior height of the aircraft is 5.79 meters, the tail height is 12.4 meters, and the fuselage diameter is 3.8 meters. It also has an enhanced body outline to decrease the risk of tail strikes.
The Boeing MAX 10 has the same capacity as the Airbus A321XLR, but with a shorter range and lower performance in smaller airports compared with its competitor. The MAX 10 has a travel range of 3,300 nautical miles and a maximum cruise speed of 453 knots. It can fly up to 41,000 feet and can climb at a rate of 3,000 feet per minute. The takeoff and landing distances are 2,500 meters and 1,700 meters respectively. It has a maximum takeoff weight of 89,765 kg and a maximum landing weight of 74,344 kg. The maximum payload is 18,778 kg while the maximum fuel capacity is 6,820 gallons.
The aircraft is powered by two LEAP-1B turbofan engines from CFM International. Each engine produces a maximum thrust of 31,000 lbf.
United Airlines will be the largest customer of the 737 MAX 10, converting one hundred of the MAX 9 orders to MAX 10.
