The Antonov An-74 is a military transport aircraft that was designed by the Antonov Design Bureau in cooperation with six other countries. The main goal for this project was to create a plane that could fly over long distances, but also take off and land on short runways. There are currently only four of these planes left in the world.

The Antonov An-74 is a military transport aircraft that can be used for both cargo and passengers. It was originally created by the Antonov Design Bureau, which has been in operation since 1946.

The development of this aircraft was first proposed in 1978 and took place from 1980 to 1985 with its maiden flight on September 8th, 1982.

This particular plane had many problems including engine fires, malfunctions in the hydraulic system, and design flaws such as cracks in fuselage structures.

Despite these setbacks it still managed to do well enough that production continued until 1989 when all models were retired due to an inability to compete against newer designs like the Lockheed C-130 Hercules or Russian Ilyushin Il-76MDK.
